Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Series To Be Launched March 12

After the success of the Redmi Note 7 and Note 8 in 2019, Xiaomi is now preparing to launch the latest member in its Redmi sub-brand series, Redmi Note 9. The device has been teased to be a photography centric phone with a quad-camera setup with a lot of performance boast for gaming.

Xiaomi Redmi series has been among the best performing devices in the mid-range and low-end segments as we know and is most anticipated in the Indian smartphone market over flagships. Xiaomi has been the number one smartphone brand in India for many consecutive quarters and since the Indian smartphone market is the second-largest in the world, it favours the company.

Xiaomi’s Global VP and MD Xiaomi India, Manu Kumar Jain revealed via the company’s official Twitter handle that the company is launching Redmi Note 9 in India on March 12.

Mr Jain tweet revealed a huge “number 9” with four cameras in between the “9” which suggests a Pixel like quad-rear camera setup which is not Xiaomi’s tradition.

Also, the tweet indicates that the upcoming Redmi Note 9 will focus more on camera showing “ProCamerasMaxPerformance” underneath the Note text and expected to launch of the on March 12 as dated on the tweet image. The tweet, however, didn’t reveal the number of devices Xiaomi will be launching in the new Redmi Note 9 series.

Expected Specs And Features Of The Redmi Note 9

Redmi Note 9 is expected to come with a 6.4-inch infinity-U display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is also expected to couple up to 6GB RAM and 256GB storage. Since its predecessor, the Note launched with 4000mAh battery, we’re hoping to see an increase in the battery too, say 4,500mAh or even 500mAh.

Redmi note will use one of the latest mid-range processors, however, I’m guessing it will feature Snapdragon 675 or maybe 710 and will run MIUI 11 based on Android 10. An under-display fingerprint sensor wouldn’t be a bad option for the device.

As for the camera, it’s kind of hard to tell what Xiaomi has installed on the device, but my wild guess is a 64MP main camera + 13MP + 8MP + 2MP and a 44MP selfie camera which just surfaced on the Reno3 Pro.
