Two herdsmen killed, two injured in Ebonyi


Police in Ebonyi has affirmed the murdering of two herders at their camp in Ukwuachi forest, Ishieke in Ebonyi local government area of the state.

Chief of Police, Philip Maku, in an announcement, said the deceased victims were one Adamu Ibrahim and Jubril Adamu.

The announcement by Command’s Spokesperson, Loveth Odah cited the Commissioner as saying two people were likewise injured and receiving treatments in the emergency clinic.

“The Commissioner of Police Ebonyi State Command, CP Philip Sule Maku has condemned the attack on Fulani Herdsmen camp at Ukwuachi Forest Ishieke in Ebonyi LGA of the State, which resulted to the death of two (2) persons one Adamu Ibrahim ‘m’ 7yrs and Jubril Ibrahim ‘m’ 15yrs living two (2) others critically injured, who are currently receiving treatment at Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki.

“One Ado Ibrahim, a Fulani herdsmen who reported at Ishieke Division stated the victims are his grandchildren and that the attack took place at their camp in the aforementioned area while the children were sleeping after cow grazing on the 28th September 2020 by 9 pm.”

The Commissioner of Police, who attempted a visit through the zone, requested a full-scale investigation concerning the issue with the end goal of capturing the culprits who fled the scene following the incident.

He likewise encouraged the overall population particularly herders to keep quiet and not to leave embark on reprisal attack as the Command will research and capture the executioners for the interest of equity.
