Two dead, 37 Injured in Train Crash in Central Portugal


Two individuals dead, 37 injured in a train accident in focal Portugal, the nation’s National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) said on Friday.

Prior, the Diario de Noticias paper detailed that the Alfa Pendular fast train crashed on the Northern Line in Soure. At least two carriages have fallen out of control, the paper included.

The National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) declared on its Twitter account that five EMS vehicles, two ambulances and two helicopters, alongside psychological aid crews and other emergency services had been dispatched to the scene.

​According to INEM, 7 individuals are gravely harmed, while 30 sustained light wounds.

In the mean time, Virtual Operation Support Team Portugal said the quantity of fatalities has ascended to two.
