Simeon Nwankwo is not for sale — Vrenna


The Chairman of the Serie A side club Crotone, Gianni Vrenna, has made the announcement that Nigerian born striker, Simeon Nwankwo, is not up for sale, despite interests from other clubs in the league.

Nwankwo has had quite an impressive performance in recent times, he scored 20 league goals which has helped return the team to the top position after spending two seasons in the second division.

Udinese and Lazio recently made efforts to sign the 28-year-old Nigerian, b Ij t Crotone reportedly turned down Udinese’s offer.

The Nigerian born star signed a three-year deal early in the 2019/2020 season and Vrenna has listed Nwankwo as one of the players to resume the next Serie A season at the Stadio Ezio Scida.

“We will keep at least nine of the 11 players for next season including Alez Cordaz, Junior Messias, Salvatore Molina, Simy (Nwankwo) and also Ahmad Benali, with which we are in the process of finding an agreement. Then we will try to strengthen the squad and make it compete with 3-4 category players,”.

“He is a player in my heart. Since he arrived, I have been one of the few who believed in him; who stimulated him and who was close to him. He is an exceptional man; he also took whistles and insults. Now is his time, I repeat: he is a great man, as well as a great player.”
