“Reduce Burden On Buhari” – APC to state Governors

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday charged state governors to judiciously utilize the monthly allocation they get from the Federal Government to address the issues of their people to decrease the weight on President Muhammadu Buhari.

Talking with FOJUSI, Yekini Nabena, the party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, said the majority of the issues in the nation today would have been decreased enormously if state governors had satisfied their duties as chief security officers of their respective states.

“If the governors take care of their states based on the allocations given to them, the problem at the centre will be greatly reduced.

“But if the governors cannot even pay salaries in their states, then all the problems will be put at the centre.

“Now is the time to face ourselves and tell one another the truth. It is not about APC or PDP.

“What are the governors doing with their monthly allocation? The money is for the people of the state.

“So, if the governors judiciously use these resources for the benefit of the people, the problem at the centre will be less.”

Speaking further, Nabena said the outcome of the blockade of foodstuff from the North to the Southern part of Nigeria has demonstrated the fact that Nigerians need each other to survive.

Northern traders lost millions of naira and sold their farm produce at ridiculously low prices as a result of the four-day blockade while the amount of foodstuffs such as cattle and yam also skyrocketed in the South.

The APC said the event had further underscored the need for unity between the North and South.

According to him, “It is a two-way thing. Everybody needs each other. The North needs the South and the South needs the North.
