PDP drags Makinde, Fayose before Saraki panel

The administration of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has hauled the Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde and ex Ekiti state Governor, Ayo Fayose before the Bukola Saraki-led reconcilation and strategic committee.

The move was sequel to the conflict between the Governor and the ex governor over control of the PDP in the Southwest zone.

The conflict has caused hiccups in the planned congress in the Southwest, forcing the administration of the PDP to require the exercise to be postponed.

In a statement on Wednesday by spokesman for the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan, said an ongoing legal tussle by two camps loyal to Makinde and Fayose had stalled the exercise.

“Consequent upon this, the National Working Committee (NWC) further resolved that a meeting comprising the National Chairman, the Deputy National Chairman, the National Secretary, the Senator Bukola Saraki-led Reconciliation and Strategic Committee, Governor Seyi Makinde and former Governor Ayo Fayose, be held immediately for urgent resolution of all issues concerning the South West.

“The NWC will meet on the outcome of this reconciliation meeting within the next 24 hours,” the statement said.
