Man dies on Air Peace flight

A 73-year old man has died on an Air Peace flight which was en route Abuja from Calabar.

It was learnt that the man had been suffering from Paraplegia from a spinal cord injury in 2019.

He had been on medications and was headed for Abuja for medical examination.

Paraplegia was a condition of a spinal cord damage that causes paralyses to the lower limbs.

A Port Harcourt Health Services official pronounced him dead after examining the passenger when they noticed he had no pulse on arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja.

The man who was accompanied by his daughter to the airport at Calabar was examined by officials and was declared fit to fly.

A top officer of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, who requested to be anonymous, confirmed the incident, but didn’t provide further information said, “You have to get the details from the aircraft (airline). He did not die in the terminal; he died on the aircraft.”

Several attempts have been made to reach the spokesperson of Air Peace, Mr. Stanley Olisa but there has been no response.
