Lagos monarch celebrates first year anniversary

The traditional ruler of Okerekere town in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area of Lagos State, Chief Rasak Oludaisi Arahi, at the end of the week celebrated, with pomp and pageantry, his first year on the seat. Among the dignitaries at the occasion were the Oni-Solu of Solu Kingdom, Oba Babatunde Adebowale Balogun (Ajumose 1), Alhaji Akeem Olatunji, Chief Abiodun Adekoya and many other well-wishers.

While talking at the occasion, the ruler said he was appreciative to God for saving his life to mark one year in office as the leader of Okerekere town.

“Despite the fact that the whole world is facing the covid-19 pandemic, God spared me, my community and well-wishers from the disease. I pray it subsides and we return to our normal daily life,” he said.

He promised that his subjects will soon start benefitting from numerous welfare and empowerment programs he intends to carry out soon. According to him, plans are in top gear to improve on the security of the town. “We are collaborating with Police, the state and Federal government to ensure that our community and society as a whole is free from miscreants and terrorists,” he said.

Oba Balogun on his own said of Arashi; “He is a tested and trusted man who has proved beyond reasonable doubt that he is fit for the position he occupies. I am happy with what he is doing in the town and his people are happy with him too.”
