FG declares Thursday as public holiday to mark the year’s Eid Mawlid


The Federal Government has announced Thursday, October 29, a public holiday to commend the year’s Eid Mawlid.

Eid Mawlid is the festival of the birth of Prophet Muhammad.

The Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola reported this in a press briefing delivered by Mohammed Manga, Director (Press and Public Relations).

The minister urged Muslims to “imbibe the spirit of love, patience and perseverance which are the virtues of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).”

He also urged all Nigerians to use democratic means to tackle some of the issues confronting the country.
