David Okereke tests positive for Covid-19


Club Brugge has reported that Nigeria international, David Okereke, has tried positive for Coronavirus on Tuesday.

The Belgian club made this known on their site.

“Attacker David Okereke took a positive Corona test this (Tuesday) morning,” a statement on the club’s website said.

“The attacker was immediately quarantined and will be retested next week.”

The 23-year-old will consequently miss Sunday’s Belgian Pro League matchday 6 installation against Zulte-Waregem at the Regenboogstadion.

Okereke is now the third prominent Nigeria player to test positive for COVID-19 after Paul Onuachu of Genk and Samuel Kalu of Ligue 1 club Bordeaux additionally tried positive for the infection.

Both Onuachu and Kalu effectively recovered.

Okereke has had four appearances this season and opened his goals account a weekend ago in the club’s 4-1 win over Waasland-Beveren.
