Covid-19: Nigeria records 1,633 new cases, total now 120,602


Nigeria on Saturday night recorded 1,633 new COVID-19 cases.

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), which revealed this on its Twitter handle, said the new COVID-19 cases were recorded in 20 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

It added that the number of COVID-19 deaths in Nigeria remained at 1,502 as of Saturday night.

Additionally, the total number of confirmed cases increased to 120,602.

Meanwhile, Nigeria has recorded 95,901 recoveries since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country in February last year .

The breakdown of the figure on a state-by-state basis revealed the following: Lagos (498), Plateau (214), FCT (176), Rivers (99), Kaduna (98), Edo (87), Anambra (86), Akwa Ibom (50), Osun (47), Kano (40), and Oyo (40).

Others are – Kwara (39), Ebonyi (28), Niger (28), Taraba (28), Ogun (27), Ondo (21), Ekiti (12), Katsina (7), Borno (6), and Delta (2).
