The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has sacked the Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Uche Secondus, from office.

The presiding judge, Justice Hussein Baba-Yusuf, in his judgement on Tuesday, held that the position of the Acting National Chairman of the party, was zoned to the North-East and therefore cannot be occupied by Secondus.

Justice Baba-Yusuf while ruling on the suit filed by former Special Adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan on political matters, Ahmed Gulak, agreed with him that the defendant (Secondus) was occupying the position of the Acting National Chairman of the party illegally.

He therefore, ordered that Secondus should vacate the office within 14 days and said that the plaintiff or any other party member worthy of that position should assume the position of the Acting National Chairman of the party.

But shortly after the judgement was delivered, the counsel to PDP in the matter, Paul Isaiah, said the party will appeal the judgement of the court, adding that a stay of execution of the judgement will also be filed.

“We are going to appeal this judgement. Apart from the appeal, we are also going to file a stay of execution of the judgement because the National Convention of the party is in March next year,” Isaiah said. this is according to the report of This day Live.
