Agboola Ajayi dumps PDP at last


The deputy governor of Ondo state, Mr. Agboola Ajayi has finally resigned his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party.

The deputy governor recently lost in the PDP primaries to Eyitayo Jegede.

He was said to have sent in his resignation letter to the PDP secretariat on Monday.

Ajayi gave reasons for him resigning, he said his people urged him to contest in the upcoming elections.

The Chief Press Secretary to the deputy governor, Mr Tope Okeowo, also confirmed his resignation.

“The deputy governor has resigned and will declare his defection to the Zenith Labour Party before the end of the work,” he said.

In response, the PDP, state chapter sent a message via its Publicity Secretary, Mr Kennedy Peretei, stating, “Agboola Ajayi has abused the welcome and privilege accorded him by our party supporters during his brief stay in the party. He also proved that he is desperate to become the governor of Ondo State. In the days to come, it will dawn on him that, he has squandered his goodwill with this decision.”
