Abuja-Kaduna train service will resume July 29 — Amaechi


The minister of transport, Rotimi Amaechi has made the announcement that the train commuting service of Abuja to Kaduna will resume on July 29.

The minister said this while he and his team were test running new coaches deployed for the route on Saturday.

Train transportation stopped operations in March due to the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

Amaechi said there has been a lot of demand for the train service to resume before the Eid season.

Amaechi said, “We will resume the Abuja-Kaduna train service on Wednesday, July 29.”

He also spoke about the price fair of the trip he said the president has ordered that the current price be reviewed to suit the current economic reality in the country.

For economy class, has now been reduced to N3000 and business class is now N6000.

The minister also said that all COVID-19 guidelines will be adapted to rail transport in Nigeria.
