Anthony Joshua Rejected by Nigeria’s boxing Federation has become Britain’s national Treasure

Joshua knocked out Wladimir Klitschko in the 11th round to secure a stunning victory at Wembley Stadium yesterday.
He was described as “Our National Treasure” on British television (Sky Sports) immediately after the fight yesterday.
The fate of Joshua was yet unknown in the fifth round when Klitschko knocked him down. There was a game change in the 11th round as Anthony Joshua knocked down Klitschko in one of the best heavyweight fights of all time.

Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua popularly called AJ was born in Watford. His friends and former teachers called him Femi. His mother is Nigerian who had him for his British Father.

Joshua commended the style of discipline in one of Nigeria’s Boarding school he attended for six months while in Nigeria. He said the discipline he was exposed to, had a majour influence over his boxing career.

Joshua had a dream to represent Nigeria at the 2012 Olympics, but he was told by coaches in Nigeria that he had no chance. Joshua later switched lane and participated in the 2012 London Olympics as a British boxer and won Gold for Great Britain. This was after he Defeated Erislandy Savón (Cuba), Zhang Zhilei (China), Ivan Dychko (Kazakhstan) and Roberto Cammarelle (Italy).

This majour victory became a morale booster for his big dream.
