Afeez Fashola, Nigerian singer better known as Naira Marley, says he has “gone in the cell” and has been arrested “125 times” while in England.

The controversial singer made the disclosure in a video which surfaced online barely a few hours after his arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on allegations of advanced fee fraud and related cyber crimes.

“125 times in England I’ve been arrested, gone in the cell . Let me tell you, you don’t know nothing about me,” said the singer in a video of his live Instagram session which surfaced online.

“I’m not into singing love songs or slow jam songs. I sing gang music from the early. I’m a gangster.”

Naira Marley has been making the headlines after a flurry of both condemnatory and supportive opinions trailed the singers 2019 collaborative single with Zlatan Ibile dubbed ‘Am I a Yahoo Boy’.

Although TG Omori, the singer’s manager, defended him with regards to the controversial single, the ‘Japa’ crooner had earlier been backlashed after he made supportive comments about internet fraudsters.

His incarceration alongside Zlatan Ibile, came after the EFCC raided the controversial singer’s home in the early hours of Friday, May 10, 2019.

The commission also paraded three others: Tiamiu Abdulrahman Kayode; Adewunmi Adeyanju Moses; and Abubakar Musa, who reportedly stayed over in Marley’s LE home.

“We found and recovered a number of including laptops, from the suspects. They have so far volunteered useful information about their involvement in the alleged criminal activities, even as investigations continue,” EFCC wrote in a tweet.
